Watch So Percussion perform a new work by our very own Angélica Negrón:
So Percussion Sō has known the radically awesome composer/performer Angelica Negron for a number of years – and in 2018, as part of our tenth anniversary celebrations of SōSI, we commissioned her to write a new work.
She responded with "gone," (the first section of a larger work), featuring robots that she developed with engineer Nick Yulman/New York Sound Works. “gone” melds technology and raw acoustic material into a hypnotically beautiful tapestry of sound.
Enjoy, and stay tuned for more from Angélica and Sō!
(As always, thank you to Four/Ten Media for videography that truly collaborates with and enhances our performance!)

BIS Records 'This guy can do anything' was the starting point for House of Cards composer Jeff Beal when writing Six Sixteen for guitarist Jason Vieaux. The work was originally written for guitar and string quartet, the instruments behind the six + sixteen strings referred to in the title.
The version for guitar and string orchestra features on the double album: ‘Jeff Beal: House of Cards Symphony’, and Jason is supported by Norrköpings Symfoniorkester, conducted by the composer.
Released by BIS Records, the album (BIS-2299) also features Sharon Bezaly von Bahr as soloist in Beal’s Flute Concerto, as well as the monumental House of Cards Symphony itself. The recording is now available as a hybrid SACD with Surround Sound, as well as from digital providers.
